Now I dont know how ISP's do what they do But im fairly sure they do not use MASS network address translation besides. So assuming your ISP is rather 'popular' it would prove rather bothersome for them to use a NAT for all the customers. IF the user decides to use a router they can use a local NAT at the house or office to provide additional network IP addressing and connect to the internet via one public address.īesides a single class C NAT can only have 254 hosts I believe. Each user that has access to my ISP is assigned an IP. Which would result in the ban hammer having to hit the entire netblock resulting in banning you permantly along with entire internet users (innocent users) inside that netblock that the ISP services in that local area.Īs well as your mass "NATing" is also incorrect My ISP does not NAT our entire netblock Dynamic, or Static.
